A Wet Walk in the Santa Rosa Creek
Location: Registrants will be informed of location
Docent: Joanne Freemire
Stroll along the Santa Rosa Creek as we make our way to the Fiscalini Ranch Preserve while you discover the incredible variety of flora and fauna that call the creek their home. Did you know that this is the only public access to Santa Rosa Creek in all of Cambria? Is that a sculpin hiding behind slick rocks? Are there any steelhead trout to be seen? Wait…did that noisy red shoulder hawk just grab a snake for lunch? Discover the many varieties of insects, amphibians, reptiles, and native plant life that live in and along the flowing waters. Learn how our Native American tribes benefited from the abundant food and medicinal plant life found along the creek.
Wear shoes that can get wet. Walking sticks recommended for balance in the rocky creek bed. Children welcome with adult supervision. No dogs please.
