2023.04.05 | Friends of the Fiscalini Ranch Preserve Celebrates Spring
Starting on Friday, April 14, through Sunday, April 16, Friends of the Fiscalini Ranch Preserve (FFRP) will be holding a fundraiser at the Brydge Restaurant (4286 Bridge Street) from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Enjoy mostly organic farm-to-table cuisine along with a glass of wine. It is a great opportunity to learn more about FFRP’s mission and activities from board members and volunteers while supporting a special place in the community. All proceeds from the sale of wine and corkage fees will support FFRP.
Outreach events do not stop there. On Earth Day, Saturday, April 22, FFRP is partnering with Greenspace at Creekside Reserve (2264 Center Street) for a lively family festival from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. FFRP volunteers also will staff a booth at Cambria Nursery from Friday, April 21, through Sunday, April 23, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Visit FFRP at either location to learn more about what the organization does. While there, pick up a few custom items like wildflower tea towels, embroidered baseball caps, and youth “Become A Force for Nature” tees.
Rounding out FFRP’s spring events is the Cambria Wildflower Show at Veterans’ Memorial Hall on Saturday, April 29 and Sunday, April 30. This favorite event is a marvelous way to learn about all things floral in the northern County.
Reluctantly, FFRP’s Ice Plant Pulling Party on April 15 will be our last of the year. The disastrous flooding of the Facilities and Resources Department in March means that some activities must be postponed while the focus is on recovery efforts. FFRP plans to return to this worthy effort in 2024. In the meantime, Weekly Weeding on Wednesdays is still moving forward for those who want to help with restoration of native habitat on the Ranch.
